The Department for Professional Employees (DPE) engages in research and publishes materials on matters of interest to its unions and their professional members. DPE also sponsors workshops, seminars and conferences focused on the needs of professional, technical and administrative support workers.
- Issue Fact Sheets and Reports
- DPE’s issue fact sheets are designed to educate readers about issues impacting the professional and technical workforce. Fact sheets are heavily notated to facilitate investigation of the source material and evolve with the issues. For more information about any of DPE’s issue fact sheets, contact DPE Researcher and Representative Jennifer Dorning at jdorning@dpeaflcio.org.
- Publications By Others About Professionals
- In addition to creating original reports and fact sheets, DPE closely monitors research coming out of think tanks, professional associations, the U.S. government, and institutions of higher education. Reports relevant to the professional and technical workforce have been broken up by topic and posted here. Research is always in process, so check back as this page is updated frequently.
- DPE Activity Reports
- DPE creates activity reports to periodically chronicle the work in which the Department is engaged. The yearly President’s Report comes out each Summer and the Quadrennial Activities Report is issued every four years. Additional, relevant reports have also been included.
- DPE staff or the Department as a whole may occasionally co-author or sponsor the creation of publications relevant to the professional and technical workforce. A bibliography of these reports can be found here.
